Public Health Insights I shared with Derryn Hinch on Sky News

A few days ago I was given the opportunity by Sky News to share my views on a very timely health issue of significant importance to the general public. Foxtel’s Derryn Hinch hosted the discussion on vaping and e-cigarettes, an emerging phenomenon in Australia on his show Hinch Live. I was on a panel with another doctor, and the owner of an e-cigs company, who all shared different views on the topic. I explained the risks of e-cigarettes and the need to have careful regulations but that didn’t seem to be the popular opinion.

It was indeed a challenging discussion but I believe I suggested the best course of action to help save lives, especially kids at risk of poisoning from the liquid nicotine – a trend that has been observed in the US.

What is your stand on the issue? I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
